The Hampshire County Bar Association is a service organization composed of attorneys and dedicated to improving the quality of the practice of law in this county by providing support to the community, the bench and the bar on relevant local issues.

The Hampshire County Bar Association’s purpose is to maintain the honor of the profession, to promote the administration of justice, to advance the science of jurisprudence, and to foster and encourage cooperation and good fellowship among the members of the bar as a non-profit corporation.

As one of the most respected Bar Associations in Massachusetts, the Hampshire County Bar Association is proud to enjoy the reputation as a responsive, innovative and active Bar Association whose members take leadership roles in issues facing the legal community.

The Hampshire County Bar Association offers many services and programs to the local community and its members such as the Domestic Relations Program for Children, Hampshire Conciliation Program, Hampshire Elder Law Program, Lawyer Referral Service, Mediation Service, Probate Court Art, Scholarship Fund, as well as the parent education programs PACT, and For The Children.

The Lawyer Referral Service, a public service of the Hampshire County Bar Association, refers individuals to an appropriate attorney or agency for their specific legal or non-legal needs.  The Lawyer Referral Service is a full fee referral service.If you can not afford an attorney, please check our Legal Resources section for available public assistance programs.  Members of the Hampshire County Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service have successfully served thousands of referral clients, many who remain with the same attorney for all their future legal needs. 

Hampshire County Bar Association membership benefits include panel participation in the various program administered by the Bar Association, Side-Bar, monthly newsletter, discounted registration fees to MBA and MCLE co-sponsored CLE programs, discounts on various products and services, participation on the bench/bar committees, attendance to Bar sponsored events: luncheons with guest speakers, Move for Change, an annual fundraiser, MBA Community Service Award Reception, Appreciation Reception and Contribution to Justice Award, other informal opportunities to network with your fellow colleagues and community members, and access to the HCBA Foundation.
